I found this 1983 D Nickle.
The P mint mark, looks like it is sliding off?
It's missing letters on the reverse and I have no clue what could have happened to the Monticello building, without disturbing the background around it?
Can anyone tell me what kind of errors these are and what if any possible value it might have? (Other than .05 cents)

Im not even sure where to start..
Or what to call it..
I had a local auctioneer look at it. He first told me he thought it had been run over by a truck!
After taking a closer look he said it had to have happen at the mint, it definitely had a lot going on and I should hold on to it and have a graded.
That's money I can't afford to spend unnecessarily, so I was kind of looking for a second opinion.

(Not to change the subject but am I supposed to leave this box unchecked on the bottom where it says include your profile signature? I thought I had read in the rules where it says you cannot have a signature until you have several different post and this is only my first.)

@Agalloway, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with the others that this coin has undergone significant damage beyond the usual wear and tear since leaving the mint.

Certainly, it is your money to do with what you'd like, but I can't imagine spending the money to have this authenticated and graded by one of the TPGs.

Perhaps you can describe which specific area of the coin that the auctioneer felt was a mint error?

It is a Grease Filled Die. Not worth sending to be graded.
