I have only recently become aware of the "woodie". I've noticed a slightly different texture on my 1909-s lincoln, and am wondering if this is considered a woodie? I received this coin many years ago as a gift from my parents. The obverse pic is kind of blurry, but the details come out strong on the reverse.
Haha mfry....you're a crackup. We need to not get TOO emotionally attached to our coins! Remember that "who's the boss and who's the copper" thing you mentioned earler!
I say that about who's the boss, but we all know who's really in charge. My wife complains, "You love those coins more than you do your family! Why don't I just leave and you marry your coins!" And she said this about a big bunch of pennies I was going through. What about my 2 cents and my 3 cents and my toned Morgans and such... I really do love them. But I still kinda love my wife too. Just kidding. I wouldn't leave her for anything under a BU grade!
ahhh. I'm not married; but I am engaged to be married in september. Which is another reason I bought the vdb NOW instead of waiting, cuz I'd be scared to tell her as my wife that I dropped over a grand on a penny. She might be more understanding if it was actually gold. :-D
Good thinking. I try to hide my buying from my wife, but she knows what's up. I think it's more fun to play the hiding thing. Oh, she knows. She just don't say anything. It gets to be kind of like a bad habit, like sneaking a drink or something.
