I would store them in PVC-free 2 x 2s.

Put them in Baggies with a dessicant pack. If you haven't touched them in any other way, such a s soaking in acetone, or attempted cleaning, then simple storage for short term is OK. Just taking a coin and putting in a 2x2 may not be such a good idea...if the coin has a problem(verdigris, zinc rot) may further aggravate the problem. Major coin problems need to be addressed before putting up in a media storage.
