Just bought this little coin and I know nothing about it though I suspect it's a paisa, so I'm hoping to get some info and a catalogue reference if possible. Thanks!

The second picture is upside-down, and the first picture should be rotated ninety degrees to the left. Those are vertical lines.

That many vertical lines indicates this coin is from the Indian state of Nawanagar. They have many similar looking pieces, but by comparing the dots on both sides, your coin seems to match this 1 dokdo piece. The date on the coin is 978, which would be around 1850 in the Gregorian calendar, but with it being a frozen date, your piece could have been made some time after that.

(The first side of your coin is off-struck compared to the coin in the link; the vertical lines would continue on either side of the horizontal line, unlike the link's coin.)

Joseph7420 Thanks for the info provided!Much appreciated! As for the photos being upside-down I had no idea since my main focus in numismatics is related to thalers, basically I'm a beginner if I go outside my area of knowledge!

It could also be Porbandar. (I need to go through my collection and verify the coins I cataloged years ago are correctly identified.)
