Got a few of these in my change from the Home Depot yesterday. No joke!

A buddy of mine at work showed me one last week that he got from Save-On-Foods.

Hi John1 - They are "multi-ply" plated steel. Basically, nickel on the outside and steel on the inside. Sorry for the warm light on my photo - I haven't had much experience yet taking pictures with my new phone.

No problem, they look neat in copper. Maybe your white balance is out of adjustment?

By what "multi ply" means, it's 3 metals.

For Canadian 25 cent coins, a steel planchet is plated with nickel, then copper, and then nickel again - for durability and to get a specified magnetic signature.
