Do you think this could be where verdigris was removed? Just curious for future reference. The coin sure looks great otherwise

I think any chemical treatment would have shown up on the surface of the coin. There was probably some gunk on the coin that affected the toning of the coin which was later removed, and fortunately it did not affect the texture of the coin's surface.
