No expert, but it might be a straight clip that was mentioned in another very recent post. I would post clearer and more cropped pictures of the coin.

Closer shots might help more, but I'm thinking the coin was scrapped on the sidewalk sometime in it life. We need to see the rim area near the area in question.

If the rim is moved, then it may have been dropped? Just can't tell all that much from the images provided.

Thanks coop, I need to figure out how to get my iphone to take closer shots that aren't blurry. I tried showing in the last pic the side of the coin in question, which is between the date and Lincoln's chest.
