Hi, it's me again.

I just went thru about $700 in change, so you'll be seeing me for a while.

What's going on here around the hub? When I first looked at this, I thought the mark on the head was just a gash, but when looking at it thru my scope, it sure looks like the edge of a coin.

I posted the reverse also, doesn't look like much going on there, except for being slightly off center.

I'm getting confused about what you are talking about when you say the hub. A hub is what is used to strike the die at the mint. I think what you are asking about is the outside edge of either the obverse or the reverse which is called the rim. This coin looks like it was scuffed like you first thought but apparently the reverse was sitting on something soft enough to not get damaged.

I stand corrected; that is the rim. Just been trying to absorb so much in so short a time.
