Dear experts,

Does anyone here has the following note?
Russia-Transcaucasia (Image of the one I have is attached)

I recently got one and I felt that the paper is very soft as if it has been pressed. Just wonder if the the type of paper used is naturally so soft. I would like to hear some of your comments.

Of course, the seller confirmed that it has not been pressed.

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards

Mine is 'soft', but not too much so. Lots of paper types for Russia in 1918-1926, there were serious problems getting supplies.

Many banknotes were, and still are, made from cotton paper which may account for the softness of your Transcaucasia note. You might find this link to be of interest:-

Place note under UV light to detect if note has been doctored. Also view letterpress, intaglio with a 10x loupe with led light to see if ink has been flattened. Paper should be dull under UV light, If bright has been cleaned.. Hope this helps..
