1982 D Penny Weighs Between 3 And 3.1 Grams

Mike252 New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 04/08/2018 07:34 am Hey I have a 1982 D small date copper penny weighing in at 3.1 grams or at least I believe that's what I got. And I have a 1944 penny that weighs 2.7 grams but is not magnetic so I don't think it is steel. Dave42 Pillar of the Community United States 571 Posts	Posted 04/08/2018 4:42 pm The 1982-D appears to be a large date, so this is a normal coin. The 1944 appears to have been corroded somehow, perhaps an acidic solution of some sort, so that would explain the loss of weight. Report this Post to the Staff
