I'd never heard of this before I came to CCF. I've always been content with having one album per series and working at filling that up.
But the idea fascinates me. It seems like a challenge, to start filling up another album of the same coins once you've filled up the previous one. Kind of like that guy who has crossed the Atlantic three times by himself in a kayak.
If you're one of these people, can you share your thinking on why you want to keep completing the same albums?

Yes , I am one of those hard line collectors who wasn't satisfied with just one 1909-1940 Whitman Album .I have 3 of them going and when I upgrade I just move that particular coin to the next Album . Same with 1941-1963 ,but I have about 6 of those . Hopefully ''just carl'' will chime into this Thread , he will knock your socks off .

I think that assembling the same set , but in different looks, is a good reason to do it. For instance, circulated, toned, unc, etc.

Just Carl had to shore up his house foundation so the coin weight doesn't sink it into the ground.

5 or 6 complete Indian Head cent albums and a couple Mercury dime albums. I just have a ton of Indians put away so I started buying old albums from the 50's to put em in.

I only have one complete album: Jefferson nickels to 2003, but I have enough loose examples to mostly complete another. As I continue to upgrade the older coins, I may end up getting another album for the Tier 2 coins. I don't have an excess like that of any other coins, maaaaybe LMCs. I'm sure that will change over time.

MY problem or maybe it's just a thing is never selling or getting rid of coins or other things. Sort of a hoarding problem. And it's not just with coins, same with other items. For coins I start with one set of something. Then as it gets full, I try to upgrade that set. By doing this, I end up with extras that are put into 2x2 flips. Eventually I end up with excessive piles of those flips and enough to start another Album. Then as that one fills up, I start to upgrade the first set and the ones in that set goes into set 2 which now creates more duplicates in 2x2 flips. This process continues until I have many, many duplicate sets of everything. For example now with 10 Albums of Lincoln Cents, 12 of Mercury dimes, 8 Indian Head Nickels, 6 Indian Head cents and on and on and on and ------- I just don't know what to do with extras other than start new Albums. Now well over 100 Albums and growing. Same problem with weapons.

I am very close to finishing my Morgan dollar Date Set album, with only 2 coins left. However, once I'm done, I'm planning on upgrading some coins. And of course, I'll have to get a new album to put the coins I upgraded into. Same with my 7070. I wonder if anyone here has 2 7070s?

I only have one complete Eisenhower dollar Dansco album. I cannot bring myself to upgrade anything in it so I am building another Ike set to complement it. The second set has higher quality coins that are graded, the minimums being MS65 and PF69DCAM.
