Thanks Coop...

I appreciate the help! I was just also wondering on my diagram above... if it worked in me explaining what I was at least thinking I was seeing? I thought if anything it would help, someone in explaining how I was seeing it wrong...?

Now I am just thinking it showed how confused I was...haha. (*Note I added the disclaimer just incase someone came across the image)

Feels like I am nearly back at square 1 relearning what I thought I understood!

Wait for it!....

No your not. Why do I say that? You realized you were incorrect with out telling you were incorrect. Keep in mind on the single squeeze cents that distortion comes into play on these doubled dies.

Keep in mind when you look too closely at the edges of the devices, you will not see the distortion of the single squeeze dies:

They tend to look like over inflated bicycle tubes.
Here is a normal one:

DDO: Keep in mind the doubled dies are on other devices of the coin as well on LIBERTY. I'm just covering dates right now.

Small distortion on date.

See the distortion on these examples?

Seeing them side by side helps because the differences can be seen easy and not lost looking to a difference reference.

Forget the edges of the devices, look more at the centers of the devices. You will find the spread there.

Again think of the over inflated tube illustration.

Hope this helps.

I think it helps very much to see all those Images lined up and seeing different ways it can appear... *noted inflated tires :)

Sheesh... just makes me think whether I need to unroll and relook at all the coins I tossed out before I cash them back in...JK ;) Out with the old, in with the new. Think it is high time to try to rescue some new old coins from out of circulation. Only holding onto pre 60's-70's...

Thanks as always Coop!
