Are we supposed to determine which are authentic?

"This is the Santiago 2 Reales Carlos IV (from) my collection."

Which IS genuine. Clearly that's the same reverse die... obverse looks to match as well. I also don't see that reverse die used after 1803 (certainly wouldn't be by 1806). So, we're presumably dealing with a copy of an 1803 that gets touched up to make surrounding dates.

The first thing that jumps out at me is what looks like a notch in the dentils at 12 o'clock on both sides. Otherwise they are well made and individually would likely fool my eye based on those photos.
Thanks for posting this :)

I don't know this series or 2Rs in general but what catches my eye in all of these photos is the line through the dentils.

From what I have learned about the manufacture of the 8 reales, the blank goes through the edging mill that impresses the edge design as well as upsets the edge. Then this planchet is struck on the screw press and the upset edge is flattened but creates a rim that is thicker than the rest of the coin.

On these 2 reales, which are significantly thinner than the 8 reales, is it possible that the upset edge gets folded over when struck, creating that crease line through the dentils? What else would cause this effect?

Ok I re-read swamperbob's post about the edge groove between the outer dentils and inner dentils, caused by one side's edging having extra upsetting. These coins appear to have that effect.
