Now with the addition of the latest 2019 72 edition. Running out of room.

Impressive. But you would have a whole shelf left if you moved the other books somewhere else.

If you collect pre-60 vintage paperbacks I have several thousand. I'd trade for some of your coin duplication

Very nice collection Carl! How many did you purchase when new?

I'm sure Carl's Mercury #10 set is much better than my (incomplete) #1 set...

Looks like the one on the far left, middle shelf, belongs to the library...

All have been purchased when new. I bought the first one when they came out way, way back then. Just never threw any away.

That one is the copy of the first edition that Whitman sold for a while. Although I do have the original first edition, I thought that remake should be there too. I used a copy of the Blue Book to keep the Red Books from rubbing against the wooden fame of the book case.

When was the first one, 1947? And you bought it new? Where, from the hospital nursery bookstore?

Unfortunately I'm a lot, lot older than I want to be. Actually the first one came out in 1946 with a 1947 date on it. It was such a success Whitman made a second printing of the 1st edition but stuck to making it still a 1947 dated book. I was there and bought one at a local coin store. This one year ahead on this book has gone on since the first one and continues today. Note the latest edition is 2019 and this is 2018.
