Whassamatter? I like that date. Anything that old is special, even if you can't buy a boat with it.

That is why I want them to wait until after 2020 before they consider eliminating the Lincoln Penny.

Quote: I have 240 of them Yikes, that is quite a few! However, I do note that you have a ways to go if you are trying to corner the market: your stash represents about 0.00061% of the roughly 400 million minted.

Not trying to corner the market, that's for sure. Just want to have a few more mint marks, so I can make up starter sets for younger relatives about to join scouts so they can get their badge, and hopefully carry on their uncles hobby.

The 1919 three mint series was actually one of the larger runs. WW1 had ended, production was increasing and the US was ramping up to a pretty solid economy. Cents were a very necessary purchasing denomination back then, many small staple items and produce was 1-5 cents in cost. The "penny candy", The "nickelodeon" flash card videos, many items of produce, an apple was 2 cents, the cry for "Buddy can ya spare one thine dime?" later in the twenties was the cost of a good meal at a diner.
