Well, normally I collect only coins but do have 3 $1 silver certificates in my possession due to the fact I got them in change. So, heres' the story.

I was working at the Home Depot today and opened my drawer to begin my shift, as I'm in customer service (glorified cashier to some). Anywho, what do I see but new $1 bills. So, I always check for star notes, which are nice too. All of a sudden, I get to 3 bills that are so new they are stuck together. I get them apart and they are sequential! They are numbered D40830917D, D40830918D, and D40830919D and are series 2003A. I had to grab them and add them to my ever growing collection. I'm thinking of hitting up my bookkeeper there to see what else they have.

Bottom line: Am I too happy for nothing? These bills are crisp and look as though they came right off of the press. Are they worth anything and if not now, maybe in the future? Even if there are worth just their values, I know that I can't let them go back due to liking them too much.

Thanks!

You actually could go to the bank and ask for $100 in crisp sequential $1 notes and they will more then likely have em.

Now if they were star notes I'd hold onto them because the value will always increase over time

I just picked up $800 in crisp series 2006 today from a couple banks - all with the original BEP wraps and all sequential (as one would expect, unfortunately no stars :( )

You found 3 silver certificates dated 2003? Unless I'm mistaken, I thought silver certificates are no longer printed.

Its pretty cool to find sequential notes in circulation, but just because they are sequential doesn't mean they have a premium. As stated, you can usually get them from the bank if you ask.

keep them, collect what makes you happy! If you do that you want get burn out on it. I have the same problem of liking sequential notes and ill get some 20's like that sometimes and be like excited and
not so excited at the same time b/c I will want to spend the money but will end up saving it b/c I like it
