I was inspired by coppernickeldaddy the Nickel goal forum. And I'm curious what the odds and percentage are of certain coins. I will start posting next week sometime with finds in penny rolls. Edited by Double Mint 06/15/2008 01:58 am

Picking up 2 boxes of pennies today and 8 boxes of pennies next week. I will be putting update of what is found today. I set aside dates that are known to have errors on em and look through em another time. I will put update of wheaties, foreign (Only canadians is 1955 and under but all other countries), errors (some of the errors will be put on a later time because they need to be looked at under magnifying glass to see em), proofs, and strange ones ( including counterstamped etc...)

1913-V Interesting finds. As far as I know the results of the Cent Project are still not tabulated and posted, so this is the next best thing.

A couple of questions:
1. Are you keeping every penny or just certain ones? 2. Where on earth do you live, I would love to find Wheaties in every other roll. I figure if I am lucky I get one about every 10-16 rolls and 99% are 44-58. 3. What are you going to do with them when you are done?

I've been searching penny rolls for over a year. I recently decided to give it up due to the fact the last 4 boxes I searched contained ZERO copper. I'll give it a few weeks to allow the banks (I use 3 differnet banks) supplies to be replenished and give it another try.

Wow thx for the replys. To answer questions, I keep all red coppers, foreign and wheats. Its not a matter where you live its the company you order your change from. If you have a bad couple boxes order more at once dont stop and put it on hold for a while. The companies that the bank gets change from has billions and billions of dollars of change. Theres wheat pennies and probably indian heads that havent been touched in 50 yrs. The only downfall to this is this allows vedigres to spread on the coins. This was the best 2 boxes Ive ever had in finding wheats. The most Ive ever found before was 106 in 8 boxes.

I still have about 250 more to look through for errors. Update: Key find 1939 George VI and 2 1988 RDV (1 covered in vedigres) (100 rolls) Wheat cents: 69 (1927 being oldest) 1920-1929: 1 1930-1939: 4 1940-1958: 64 Wide AM: 1 (1998) 1963D DDO1988 RDV: 2 1939 George VI (Canada) I found another RDV and a 1958 wheatie that I missed. I'm getting really excited for my 8 boxes. I'm probably in for a big disappointment.
