Hello, I am new. Came here for some advice. My mother found this in a charity shop today. She sent me pictures. I am new to coins so I was wondering if anyone can help me identify this and tell me if its worth anything? We plan on taking it in to someone to look at, but I figured I would ask here first. Thank you for any help. Sorry if the picture quality isn't that great.. my mother isn't too iphone savvy haha.

Unfortunately it is one of the increasingly common Chinese fakes with no value. Sorry to be the bring the bad news!

That is almost certainly not genuine. It would be a Draped Bust Dollar, and quite valuable if it were genuine.

Thank you for the replies, she picked up a couple of different ones, also one from 1800. No worries if they are fake. They were very inexpensive. I appreciate it. No to break the news to her.

Better to tell her they're "pretty replicas" than fakes- sounds better.

They are counterfeits, most likely Chinese.
