I googled what I could read of the reverse legend which brought up only one result - a student thesis written in Czech which cited a similar coin, attributed to "Spyr". I don't read a word of Czech but decided the issuer must be "Speyer". I then searched Ma-Shops for "Speyer 1575". Luck strikes again.

I would have probably tried to look for it on the Saurma site - it has a nice type search that is usually convenient for finding 16th century German state coins.

In this case, with 33 results, it's not quite as convenient as it sometimes is. Still enough to establish this as a 1/2 batzen, and in a few minutes I would have probably found the right match - Saurma 2121, Bishopric of Speier.
