This was found in circulation... so I know it's a long shot, but the edges look right to me.... what do you think?

It is a business strike not a proof strike. Use Google images to see a real one in a slab,PCGS or NGC or ANACS.

This is just a regular and normal business strike. A Proof strike is a lot different with frosted fields and a mirror-like finish.

Here's a side by side to show the differences:

Business strike coins that year do not have a mint mark from Philadelphia. The missing mint mark is on the proof 'S' mint marks.

Ive got a 87 proof set that I busted open just to compare. Heritage auctions told me to take it to my coin dealer and if it graded they would buy it

I you are talking about the 1990 coin above, it will not grade out at anywhere near what you think it will. I see zinc rot and fingerprints. And just an FYI, don't ever hold a coin that you might think has any real value without gloves. You are adding your fingerprints to those already there.

Keep looking

Business strike, take a look at coop's demo pics. I know your coin is probably quite shiny but it doesn't make it a proof.

I'm not judging it by the mirror side of it... I was going by the edge
