Is there any value to this (as with the 1917) or is it pretty much worth BV?

G'day,
in your header, you describe this item as "counterfeit sovereign"
if that is correct, then I expect that it's not worth BV, nor anything near it.
If it's a genuine sov, which mint mark ?
The 1917L is a very rare sov; all of the 1918 varieties are readily obtainable.

I had taken it to a dealer, along with a 1914, and he said the '18 was counterfeit and that it was gold. He offered $135 USD for it.

G'day,
any chance we might see a pic ?
weight ?
diameter ?
I've heard of 10K forgeries, or replicas, but $135 seems like a generous price for a dud.
