I like that too but I am not sure how it got a grade of VF-30. something looks wrong to me but I am also not an error guy. maybe Chuck will have time to look but I think I would wait to find out from one of the error guys before I jumped.
Rest in Peace

Just last month an NGC AU-55 1956 cent struck on a dime planchet sold in a Heritage auction for $575 after buyers premium. The Heritage auction prices are usually a little high. The grading is tougher on these because a dime planchet is thinner than a cent planchet so the detail will not strike up. They look weak from the start. Good luck with the decision.

On the obverse detail photo, are those hairlines--or am I just seeing things?

But the photo is taken thru a plastic slab. The slabs scratch easily so it could just be on the plastic and not on the coin. It does have a 3 day return priviledge. I wouldn't give up on the coin because of the hairlines if I really wanted one of these.

It sold for 500 bucks! For $100 more I could have bought that AU one on Heritage. Thanks for the input everyone, PP
