Hello CCF, I included pictures of three 1943 Lincoln Cents (P-D-S). Please share your grading opinions. It was challenging to take decent pictures of the 1943-P. It's super shiny/reflective so I took multiple pictures at different angles. If you notice any error varieties/die markers please let me know. I will/can start another topic in the error/variety forum. Just thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. The 1943-P could have a DDO or DDR. Some of the devices seem extra thick. 1943-D/D (don't think it's there) and the 1943-S is known to have a DDO. I noticed some doubling on the date but it could be mechanical. Your feedback is appreciated.

The first two seem to have a grainy surface texture. Is that just the photos, or is that the texture in hand?
The last one (1943-P) has been plated. Unfortunately, most of its numismatic value has been lost.

Agree sort of odd grainy coloring on the first two - not like MS coins to me. The '43 is definitely plated. to the CCF!

They are most likely all plated, even the grainy looking one. John1

The 43-P is definitely replated/reprocessed. The mirror finish is a dead giveaway.
The 43-P and D grainy finish looks kinda strange but may be natural. I have never seen reprocessed steelies end up with a rough surface like that.
Uncirculated ORIGINAL steel cents will have a silvery uniform frosted appearance. That appearance cannot be replicated with the replating process that has been used for the last 60+ years.

The first two look like they could have corrosion or environmental damage. That's not the original texture of steel cents. I can show you photos of my original 1943 steel cent if you want.

Could the grainy ones actually be spray paint? John1

The S&D appear to have been cleaned, looks like acid damage. The P has been replated. Personally, I'd junk all 3 of them.
