Having had so much fun with Mr Lincoln I thought it was time to bring Mr Jefferson into the picture.

Anyone want to guess on the grade of this one.
Before anyone says it. No it has not been cleaned.

Hi Nohope

MS-62 the chatter on the cheek and hair of the obverse take this coin down considerably.

The strike looks like about a normal business strike for the year, although I have seen better from this mint, the step detail is to dark to make out.

Kinda sad that this coin year and Mint dont get more attention.

I won't try to guess the grade, but to address the question in your title (weak strike?) it looks to me like a fairly old set of dies (or maybe I should say well used dies, not necessarily old!) because there appears to be orange peel effect in the fields on both sides, and the lettering is weak, especially the "w" of we which starts fading away toward the rim, and other details kind of "mushy". It does look like there might be some steps visible though, maybe they sometimes just re-engraved steps, I don't know? Brighter lighting might show steps better like Metalman says. So, anyway, maybe not weak strike as much as worn dies.

Oops, forgot to mention maybe a die crack at top of Jefferson's head and moving clockwise thru the letters, kind of hard to see, but would support older die theory.
