1968 S LMC, RPM Or MD?

I have this 1968 S LMC that is either an unlisted RPM or MD. I have all kinds of MD'd mintmarks but the date also is MD'd. This is the first cent that I have that has no MD on the date. I also have many cents that the date is MD'd but the mintmark is not. Insight please.

Looks like Machine Doubling to me. You can see the reduction of the mintmark, Indicating Machine Doubling.

1968-72 cents had a lot of MD issues. On the 1973' cents the strike was different. The rim was deeper. So they may have tried something different to fix the issue. In 1974, they went back to the previous setup. But the MD was as common. They must have figured out what was the problem by then. (Just my observation)
