In honor of hitting the one grand post level on this fine forum, I think it's time for a contest. I will try to spread this one out longer so everyone gets a shot.

I will describe a particular coin, giving progressively more detailed descriptions each day. First person to correctly guess the coin being described will win a prize. I will try to mail the prizes to anyone on the forum, but if you live outside the US, someone in the know will have to work with me to narrow down a reasonably priced method of shipping!

I have two prizes to give away. So let's start with the first mystery coin:

This coin depicts an historic event and was released in the 21st century...

Edit: limit guesses to one per person per day. Thanks.

Well that didn't pan out...

It's-Been-Grand-So-Far

That's exactly the coin I was describing Frog! I suppose that was too easy since I live in NC.

Sorry to everyone else. I'll try to make the next one more difficult. Stay tuned tomorrow for the next one.

PM your shipping info to me Mr. Frog.

PS: is this the fastest contest win in forum history!?

Shucks. Had to be a commemorative quarter, and it was pretty easy after that.

Congrats to Coinfrog who won round one about the time I hit the post button on the first clue!

The round two mystery coin is a silver coin that was produced during the 20th century...

If anyone gets this one on the first guess, I will find another prize, add a third round and put on my tin foil hat.

Lots of good guesses but no winner yet. I will post the next clue tomorrow. Also, I'm on the road and will only be checking in sporadically until Sunday afternoon.
