Hello CCF, Please share your thoughts. Interesting coin... Raw-in-hand. Luster is superb with the satin-gold finish. You'll notice what looks like various grease spots near reverse of the rim. I see doubling but it could be mechanical. I found two of three die markers on http://www.doubleddie.com (1968-D 25¢ WDDR-001) & (CONECA: 1-R-I, Cherrypickers: FS-25-1968D-801). I appreciate your time!

Technical Grade 64. Eye Appeal 7/10.
Typical weak center strike for date and mm. Luster subdued as is almost always the case. Certainly a keeper.

My first thought was polished or cleaned. Not sure if it's wear or weak die strike but the hair looks worn. Are breast feathers evident? If you want a grade I'll go EF to AU. Still a nice coin! !

64 sounds about right to me. Noticeable marks on forehead, hair and neck.

EF to AU-55. MD reverse. Agreed. Hairlines worn, neck, agreed. Luster obverse nice. 7/10. Appealing coin.

cool doubling, looks AU to me - what's the gunk at 3 o'clock on the reverse near the last "A"?

two_tonevf35 - Not sure, but it looks like grease to me. What else could it be?

I'd take a toothpick and gently push and if it moved, I've used an old piece of soft cotton over the toothpick to remove gunk/grease if I don't think it has affected the toning.

I'm not crazy on the eye appeal on this one. I'm thinking more like a 61-62

PCGS graded this coin (same exact coin I posted) MS67... Maybe I should have tried to remove the gunk/grease that is noticeable on the reverse (near the rim at 3, 6 & 10 o'clock). Then again an unsuccessful attempt to do that could have resulted in a lower grade. Does anyone have advice on how to remove gunk from a coin without damaging it? Are there certain cleaning products that don't alter toning/luster. It's probably not worth it but does anyone think that removing the gunk from the coin and resubmitting to PCGS would result in a higher grade? I'd settle for MS67+ and be thrilled with a MS68 (although highly unlikely). Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
