I was going through my mother in law things after she pass away and came across this beauiful coin. I am not familiar wit this coin. Can someone help me know if this real or fake?

You would need to post some pictures. These are frequently counterfeited. In fact, if you Google "1802 Silver Dollar", the first link that comes up is about detecting counterfeits.

Unfortunately, that appears to be fake. Compare to a genuine piece at http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/coin/detail/40087The spacing of "LIBERTY" is uneven compared to the stars (L is far, Y is close), "1802" is too far from the edge, the denticles do not go to the rim, and the stars on the reverse are too small.

I bought my 1804 for a dollar; it is the only way that I will get to own one! And why not? I will never have enough to invest in a genuine example.
