Very nice find. Appears to be Hafner 32B, struck in Guenzburg 1790-1805. See here: http://www.theresia.name/cgi-bin/To...gi?Item=H32b
Yours is a very nice example too, worth at least a few hundred dollars.

Nice to know that it is not a very common re strike.

Next thing to do is to appreciate it for what it is, or sell to someone who does.
Maybe hard to find a specialist collector of MT thalers, so then give in, and use this coin to become someone who truly appreciates and studies them as well.

There are a lot of us here in the CCF, for example, who study LMC's or Wheats.

Lovely example too. That's a great candidate for a Crown type set beginning.

Thank you all for replying!The coin is not mine, but I might consider buying it!I collect thalers and generally large crowns and posted a few of them on this forum, but I never go above 17 century unless I really like the coin, that's why the M.T thalers and the Hafner Catalogue variants are not on my wishlist,yet.
