What would you recommend a person do if he or she found one?

Since it has only been hinted at, we are talking about a Lincoln Memorial cent, correct? Pics are absolutely necessary to determine anything.

Ive been trying to take a picture but my cellphone camera is not the best. They all come out blurry. Please be patient and I will see if I can post a picture using a different device.

There may be the effect of a smaller "slender" appearance than a normal width device. This isn't a design change just a machine process, maybe an over-polished die has decreased the depth of the devices, that causes thinner looking letters/numbers. Also, it could be a newer made coin, first runs were crisper and cleaner, not so flattened by use and circulation. But no, there was no specific design of two different sizes used that year. The process of hydraulically stamping was being replaced with a single-squeeze minting technique at the time as well, may be a factor your eyes register.

None are listed. The only obverse is one for all three mints. As mentioned, some devices can be reduced by die polishing, removing the fields, making the devices smaller. But when the die was created, it was normal. But no such thing was created on the die. Images would help us determine if the die polishing happened or not. Usually when die polishing happens on the date are, it is usually the 1 that shows die alteration. Note the only device affected is the first ono. On a true small date, all the devices are affected, even the bust: Note how all the devices and bust is affected.
