Hello CCF,

Take a look at Washington's mouth. What caused this? Edge/rim of another coin?

Thanks,

I'm not quite sure. It doesn't look like a typical bag mark. I think there may be more to it.

Probably damaged with the reeds on an edge of another coin. Spendable

The impression doesn't match the reeding on any other coin that I know of.

I don't think this is an edge reeding hit. From left to right shows an untouched area toward the right side.

I'd guess strike through.

jacksondodge - please don't hijack other threads in the future. I have told the Moderators to create a new topic with your post.

kevcoins - I think it might be a strikethrough.

I'm on board with a strike through. I would call it the "Hannibal Quarter"!

Given that the images here much are larger than life, if they were reduced down to lifesize, then as spruett001 said, the impression won't match any other coin.

Also, the spaces between impressions appear to be different widths apart. It's still probably PMD, just not from another coin.

If it were a lamination it might be a shade lighter. If it is damage, the weight would be the same a normal.
