1969 S LMC Machine Doubling On Liberty?

I have this 1969 S LMC that I believe is MD'd. The only thing I am not understanding is the bottom part of the E appears thicker than on a normal cent. Insight please.

You are correct. The devices now are even smaller than normal sized. The MD was very common on 1968-1972 cents.
