Complete 6-Piece Gold Coin Set $5 (1912, 1913, 1914); $10 (1912, 1913, 1914) is available on the Shopping Channel.

-Acrylic Presentation ($5,995.00)
-Mahogany Finished Case (5,495.00)

It doesn't state the condition of these coins but they look a bit rough with my eyes and was wondering if this is a wise investment.

Thanks

Peter

It seems for mediocre grades you can get the set for $4,800 - $5,000 sans packaging on ebay.

Then again there's this too https://www.ebay.ca/itm/263630154576

IMHO. this set IS NOT a good investment. Be patient and you could collect the set cheaper and with better slabs.

Only the top graded coins of this series will hold value, the rest will follow bullion, with HST you mind as well just purchase bullion.

Agree that top graded coins are the way to go with these items. As a set they may be more expensive but they will hold their value.

I do have one question... Since neither set is graded or comes with an assertion of coin quality, why is the acrylic $500 more than the mahogany case. The case looks like standard Lighthouse Quadrum holders in a Lighthouse display case. Surely this is more expensive than the acrylic version that looks like it was done in a garage workshop?
