Can anyone tell me is this common weight because I looked it up and it says 5 grams yet this one is underweight also it looks like silver or something else anyway take a look and thank you in advance..

About 10% weight loss for wear is a bit, but nickel weights can vary. Your coin is genuine.

Silver was used during 1942-1945, all other dates are the usual copper-nickel alloy.

There are "tolerances" listed for all coins, these are "recommendations" from the mint to manufacturing processes, not a set in stone law. Alloy variances, metal extrusion (thin/thick rolled stock plates will all have effects increasing/decreasing over thei "recommended" weight.

it is a normal coin that is worn and may have been a little underweight to begin with.
