Actually that is a kinda interesting idea for a garage job--take a proof coin and impair one side so that it looks circulated while keeping the other side in pristine condition. Ridiculous, but interesting.

My first thought was that they took a normal 1978 quarter and colored in the reverse field with a sharpie to simulate a cameo. Upon closer inspection, though, I guess it is a real proof.

I missed the Jefferson quarter too. Now I'm spending all my time looking for a James K Polk dime in case I missed that one also.
