Can you post a bigger pic, it's hard to see at this size. Looks like a worn die, But, its hard to be sure

It almost appears that the copper has lifted off the zinc, Let see what the "Experts" have to say.

Hi,

It is a coin struck by a worn die and there may be some areas where the copper plating has been compromised during the strike. That would allow the zinc core to be exposed.

It is hard to tell for sure with the picture as far as the above but it is easy to see that it is not a doubled die.

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Bill! Being that this is a scan, do you think that an actual photo would give a better visual of the details? I'm not doubting your experience, but you have to admit, this scan sucks!

Nope, a bigger image wouldn't help. Bill has it right, it's "shadow doubling" caused by die wear.

I agree with Chuck and myself...can a person agree with himself? Anyway...A bigger pic won't really help. Die doubling is easy to rule out based upon the scan.

Thanks,
Bill
