1982 Lincoln Cent Weight Error - Coin Community Forum

Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 74434 Posts	Posted 05/15/2018 4:20 pm Nope, not an error at all. 2.5 grams means that your coin is Copper plated over a Zinc core. 3.1 grams means it's Copper. Back in 1982, they still had some Copper Planchet left over from 1981, so they were using all of them up that year. They were also using a new composition, which was Zinc Planchets with Copper plating. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff
