My coworker inherited his father in laws coin collection and I was able to point him to this great community to answer most of his questions! Most stuff was an expected mix, low grade/junk silver, Whitman Lincoln cents albums, gold plated State Quarters, etc. Randomly plugged in some open Whitman folder holes were the two civil war tokens seen in the pictures (1864. Obverse -the union reverse — and 1863 obverse - no compromise with traitors reverse).

I estimate both in the Upper VF range but I have seen some slabbed MS tokens that lacked details.

From a quick review on ebay, I would estimate the 1864 at $25-$35 and I would estimate the 1863 at $65.

Does this information seem accurate to experienced collectors on this forum? I certainly want to make sure I am not missing anything/over looking something with these two tokens.

Any additional insight and references are also greatly appreciated!

A tad high on the 63. Probably closer to $40.

CWT collectors have become insane (like the rest of us) for grade. Both of these are common, especially in mid Fine grades.

ebay might net you better sales.

IMHO, retail for these common CWT's in F-VF is $20-$25 tops. Wholesale is around $15, each. The market has softened on common patriotics in average condition, these past few years; this, but for higher grades and more desirable die varieties and pictorials.
