Just a word of caution on Population Reports.
Even the graders will tell you that they are basically unreliable. They don't tell you how many ungraded coins are out in the world. So if someone was silly enough to send in a normal , run of the mill,1992 cent and it came back graded as an MS-60 it is possible to be the only one and show up on a Population report as only 1 Graded. That's meaningless info. It can be very misleading as an MS-60 1992
Lincoln Cent is a One Cent , cent. No value at all....
They will also tell you that conversely, rare coins are often broken out and regraded and that throws the numbers off the other way. The same coin may get graded 10 times and each time it is slabbed, it is added to the pop reports.
Again , useless information.
Another example would be if I sent in the varieties that I have sitting here in for slabbing, I would throw all the pop numbers for a loop all on my own.
In other words, I wouldn't hang my hat on those numbers as they are pretty meaningless , in the overall scheme of things, and even the grading companies advise you, that these things are so.
To use those figures as a sales "spiel" on
ebay or elsewhere can be very misleading.
Thanks,
Bill
