Unlisted ATB 2015 P Saratoga Quarter Doubled Die Reverse / DDR ?

Waynoah83 Pillar of the Community 586 Posts	Posted 05/16/2018 11:35 pm I found this and it jumped right out at me prob cause I've seen so many and figured it was pretty common but when I looked it up on wexlers all the DDR's for this quarter seem to affect the right hole in the guard on the sword. It says complete after the listing so I was wondering if that means this isn't a dd or what he story is. It looks the same as the other dd's for this quarter, just in the opposite side of the guard. It is the exact same type of mark as the listed dd's for that coin except it's on the left side it looks like it comes to a point because the way the pic was angled. I'm not saying your wrong about it not being DD but from the description in wexlers it is identical save for affecting the left hole in the sword guard as opposed to the right. It isn't from a coin. That area is so small a coin hit would have affected more of the guard. Report this Post to the Staff

Waynoah83 Pillar of the Community 586 Posts	Posted 05/17/2018 01:02 am After looking at it again from the complete opposite angle I kind of see what your saying though. I don't think it was a hit but the metal just splitting on the area that should have been a smooth bend. I could really see from the other angle but now I see what you mean by it being a sharp point at the one end. There's another spot in the coin where the metal looks like it just split probably from the pressure of being stamped. It looked so close to the other ones it was a little wishful thinking on my part. Thanks for info coop and crazy. You have shown me the "error" of my ways. Who doesn't like a good coin puns.
