Just picked up a box of LC's. All rolls of B.U. 2018 cents.
Wondering if anyone knows of any varieties that have been found on the 2018's, especially DD's that I should be on the look out for.
Thanks for your help.

I just popped on ebay and if you are willing to sell, I saw a full box go for almost $60.

Youch, these ultra bright shield cents hurt my eyes also I'm good for about 3 rolls then eye strain. Haven't heard of any DDO's yet but hope is eternal. Hope there is some nice ones like in 2006 and 2014.

I haven't seen a 2018 cent in person yet and, of course, I haven't been able to get any rolls for a month or so. So I personally haven't seen any varieties. I also haven't seen any varieties published by Wexler yet.
So nothing yet.
I will get a box of cents tomorrow so I'll keep you posted if I see anything on a 2018.

I did find a minor Doubled Die Obverse for 2018 (it has extra thickness on the bottom of ERTY of Liberty), but I'm not going to post pictures until John A. Wexler gets back to me about it. I sent the package out today. The news will only come out when he emails me back.

I found one that the letters looked a little plump in the same area. I don't keep them unless I see some notching (only because I'm not sure if there really fatter or it's my imagination). Only looked at one roll so far so maybe....

The only thing though is it's pretty minor Doubled Die Obverse. It would be the first one listed for this year.

And that would be a cool find. Wish you luck in your attribution.

Update: I got the news back from John Wexler and he said this. "Coin #3 is a 2018-P 1˘ that is well within normal thickness ranges. It is not from a doubled die." Oh well, it was a nice try anyway.

E&V, sorry for your loss. We're all here if you want to talk about it, if it's too soon, I understand But seriously, and I mentioned this a couple times, I've found a lot of the 18's and a TON of 16's with bloated looking devices. Anyone else? Is it just me? Is my eyesight failing? OH GOD I'm GETTING OLD?! It's funny, as I typed "18's and 16's" it reminded me of when we used to have to write our name and date in print at the top of the page and cursive on the rest. 1980something...

Is a box of 2018 nickels of any value? I've gotten rid of 3 and have one left I'm about to swap for 4 penny boxes (circulated). Should I hold on to it?
