I found this in a circulated roll from a bank box of U.S. Pennies. This Lincoln Memorial cent jumped out it me when I saw the mint mark positioning was not correct. The U.S. Mint employee must have been very shaky or something. I'm keeping this in my collection anyway since it's very cool.

Haha Crazyb0! So that must be that chart, explaining what mint mark position is considered acceptable?

Actually they do consider it anywhere not touching on any detail or rim as to be OK. Once it is smacked in, either they go ahead with the die or toss it out as damaged. If they have enough, out it would go. They were pushing the dies back then.

I call for any coin with a mint mark that's off to have an official Cb0 rating.

This one would rate a solid Cb0-8.

Actually for that year I've seen a lower mint mark.

It is in a mint set I have. But as already mentioned, mint marks are hand punched until this year. So they will vary in locations. Starting in 1990, The MM is part of the design. Since then they are in the same locations.

That one looks like a Cb0-7.5.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments! I thought this was pretty cool to see a mint Mark not in its correct position.
