Although I'm not a note collector, I think that it's about time for the paper folks to get their own forum. A great number of the new posts in the last couple weeks have been on bank notes. I get tired of clicking on them when I think that they concern coins, but it's worth it to learn more about you guy's niche. It looks like they have found a place to hang, now that their other site closed down and CCF is a great place to go. Edited by okiecoiner 05/19/2018 8:15 pm

I'm well aware of what the title of this forum is. But in the last two weeks the forum moderator told the paper guys that, if there were enough posts about paper and notes, they would gladly create a new forum just for that purpose. They said that they have done this many times before on other sections of this site. I just felt that they are getting a number of posts dealing with paper, so why not make it easy for them and folks that do internet searches.

I understand where you are coming from and I'm sure your post was not meant in any other way that I think some may be taking it. As a coin forum I see this as a privilege for banknote collectors to have a place to go.. FRIEDSQUID

Friedsquid ... I meant no disrespect or anything else untoward. I just felt that you have carried a number of people over from your defunct place where you used to meet. Why not get your own pesonal subforum here on the Canadian site. We are glad to have you here .. everyone comes across notes and bills on which they have questions, myself included.

with Okie I think it would be a good idea if it had its own Paper Currency Forum Title it would be more direct to the questions and photo's. I like to keep an open eye for different type notes I always liked the radar notes and solids.

Hello Okiecoiner
I totally understand what you were saying And I fully understand what you meant I do agree that it would be great to have a forum for Canadian banknote collectors But not sure as to how difficult it would be To set up I also understand how frustrating it can be having to Go through numerous topics/posts etc Only to find that they are all itelavebt To coins Hopefully something. Can be worked out Keeping my fingers crossed

Yes, Friedsquid ... I was only trying to bring the suggestions that are toward the end of this thread on the demise of your old site: http://goccf.com/t/317342&whichpage=2#2716444It seems to me that there is adequate traffic to let Bobby or the other moderators create something new for you. It would help immensely for people doing a google search to try to find a place that can answer their questions.

I have to agree with Okie. Give the paper folks their own (sub-)forum. I think it would be a good thing for everyone. To quote a movie from the 1980s: ''If you build it they will come.''

I have perhaps 200 notes, but nothing significant. There is a chapter of the IBNS * in Sydney. I know some of the members, see them occasionaly at coin shows, here in Sydney. I would comment occasionally on a banknote sub forum, here in the CCF. * International Bank Note Society.

So far I've moved everything with "note" in the title but I have to run out for the day. It will fill up more.
