Yep, DB server need a piece of hardware replaced. Not sure what yet. Here's what was in the log just now...
Tuesday, May 22, 2018 We are currently investigating an issue with this server and will update once more information is known.
== Update == Server has been rebooted and appears stable, cause of downtime remains unknown at this time.
== Update == This server appears to have again become unresponsive, the datacentre engineers are still investigating
== Update == Datacentre engineers believe they have isolated the cause and are currently performing some hardware replacements to get the server operational again.
== Update == Hardware has been replaced and the server is operational again, we will continue to monitor the server.

Actually that's all on my host. I woke up to it all being over.
They did a nice job. Only an hour down for a hardware replacement is tremendous.

Quote: Yes, it was down for about an hour...Longer on the mobile site. This seems odd -- is there a separate "mobile site", or just special handling if the site detects a mobile device? (I'm primarily on the desktop because many sites, especially this one, really need the extra real estate to be effective. But there are times when I want to check in and have only my phone.)

Mobile networks have routers that cache, so it can seem longer when it really isn't.

I was able to get back onto CCF on my laptop after about an hour. My phone took another 15 minutes or so to get through.

Right, because the router you were working through on your mobile network likely caches pages for 15 to 30 minutes or so. The router was serving the cached page instead of connecting directly.
