Die Capped Error 1956 Nickel - Coin Community Forum

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/22/2018 7:10 pm It looks like someone put something on the coin like solder. The weight should be heavy for a nickel. A struck through a die cap and sticking on the coin would only affect the obverse that year. PSD. Report this Post to the Staff

Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 75143 Posts	Posted 05/22/2018 8:47 pm To CCF! Unfortunately, that's Post Strike Damage (Happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Not an error, just damage. Someone added something to it, maybe solder. Worth face value now because it's now considered a cull coin. Errers and Varietys.
