Here is a 1956 nickel that I think might be a die capped error. What do you think?

It looks like someone put something on the coin like solder. The weight should be heavy for a nickel. A struck through a die cap and sticking on the coin would only affect the obverse that year. PSD.

Yep, that's what it looks like - something was added to the surfaces of your nickel.

To CCF! Unfortunately, that's Post Strike Damage (Happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Not an error, just damage. Someone added something to it, maybe solder. Worth face value now because it's now considered a cull coin.
