Hello CCF,

I have what appears to be a proof Washington quarter DDO but I can't find any records of it. The doubling seems apparent on Liberty, date, mint mark and Washington's profile.

Who do I contact to confirm?

Thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you,

This is Machine Doubling not hub doubling. The devices are reduced even smaller on the coin that what they were to begin with.
There are no DDOs on Variety Vista for that year.

Wexler lists no doubled dies for that year either.

How did I know the date?
Rest in Peace

Yep, it's Machine Doubling. The devices are reduced in size and is shelflike in appearance. Remember, proof coins are struck twice, so that doubles the chances for Machine Doubling to happen. It happens a lot on proof coins. No added value since Machine Doubling is worthless doubling.
Errers and Varietys.
Rest in Peace
