I'm not a professional by any means. But I very much joy to my coins. My knowledge is very limited on the older coins such as this one.
So I would love to hear your thoughts on grade, history & value..

It appears to be a 1798 (9?) Large cent in AG3/FR2 Damaged grade, which is normal for those old coppers. The first series of actual GI, Gubmint Issued coinage of the Cent, the Half Cent was similar but smaller. Value in the $10 range if not more. There may be a variety to it, but that I wouldn't know. Nice late 18th Century Copper.

It's an old US Coin that has done it's duty. It has minimal value because of the condition, but it's still a great old coin. Value $10-15.

If it's a 1799 (rather than a 1798), it has some real value. With that said, it looks like 1798 to me.

It isn't a 1799 the hair wave below the R is too far to the left. It is below the upright or just slightly right of it. On the 1799's it is below or slightly right of the center of the R.
