I bought this coin on ebay last week and am wondering if it's real.. The gold looks and feels more dull compared to other US gold coins I've had experience with. After reading that these are one of the most commonly counterfeited coins I figured I better figure this out while I can still sort this out with ebay. I actually just logged onto ebay and it looks like the seller I bought it from is no longer a registered ebay user, adding to my suspicion. I'm definitely hoping it's real and everything is hunky-dory but I need to make sure.

Yours is definitely a fake, note the poor relief of details, and those casting bubbles, good grief! Almost nothing solid on reverse. Start your ebay return claim ASAP! NEVER buy unslabbed valuable coins off ebay unless you KNOW the seller!

1st coin is 100% fake 2nd coin is 90% genuine. Gold Indians are highly counterfeited so I wouldn't say 100% on any coin without doing some basic testing. i.e. Weight, diameter, etc.

If you are going to spend that much money for a coin I HIGHLY recommend you get them in an NGC or PCGS slab. Even ANACS.
