I have found quite a few of these in the box of obw rolls I'm searching. I finally decided to post one to get opinions of what you all think going on with the ear lobe. Maybe nothing but it looks different to me.

Thanks for looking

Machine Doubling maybe? Or it can be a well placed hit. We'll see what other members think.

Machine Doubling maybe? It could of been a run of LSC's with Machine Doubling. I'm not definite, but it's a good guess. If it's not Machine Doubling, than maybe a new unlisted Doubled Die Obverse.

I'm not sure either. It looks a little more pronounced on this one than the others I found. I'll put it in a flip an compare it to the next one I find.

It is Machine Doubling. The raise is from the metal getting hit, making a wave on the earlobe. Hub doubling doesn't make the doubling a step down. Nothing is enlarged, it reduced from normal size.

Your right Coop. It's more obvious on this one.
