1989 reverse of 1988 Lincoln Cent find? This is mentioned in "Strike It Rich" (4th edition) by Ken Potter. He says that it doesn't command *too* much of a premium because of skepticism. I'm wondering if I found one! It could be a clogged die though... What do y'all think?

I see no serifs, the top of "G" looks raised/curved properly, and it has very thin lettering.

The coin wrapper got ya, even if it was, can't prove it.

And, well,... the "Become a coin lotto winner" topic is one I'll leave alone for now, do some real learning before you go for the gusto. You know what you're looking for here?

This is called a Transitional die error. Yours is too damaged to even figure out I think, rubbed out, not filled. If you look at the vertical blue line in middle right pix, that is what your coin shows.

All the RDV-006 are fresh dies. The worn out ones like this was the reason they had to dip in early for the next years reverses. So with it showing extreme wear, it is likely a a RDV-005.

Crazyb0, according to your illustration, the coin wrapper wouldn't affect the "F," which is obviously far thinner than a RDV-006. Also, regardless of if this is a lotto winner, according to Potter, the coin sells for a premium *even with* the skepticism. So I am happy!

coop, it sounds like you believe I have what is mentioned in "Strike It Rich" then. It's a keeper!
